Australia’s last defeat at Gabba was in 1988, West Indies. After that they played 31 matches at Gabba and won 24 of them and match draw count was 7 times.This streak was broken by 32 year-old Indian Batsman Shubman Gill, who scored 45 runs on debut and continued to score until he became the highest scorer for India in the 4th test.
Batsman Rishabh Pant 23 & 89*(not out) in the Fourth and final test. The fortress been breached by Indians, and Australia lost their streak of 32 years!
Mohammed Siraj on debut took 2 wickets for 40 runs, also took a five wicket haul at Brisbane.
C Pujara had about 8 Injuries during the 4th match but still played a fabulous 2nd innings of 56 runs of 211 balls.
Ajinkya Rahane, was magnificent, smashing the Australian bowlers to all Corners of the ground, and scored a superb 112 of 223 balls and became a successful Captain of Indian team.
India, in the 1st test match makes a Bad Defeat after All out at 36, but they bounced back and won the second test match. This was one of the lowest test score in Indian history.
India Won the Test and the T20 and retained the Border- Gavaskar Trophy whereas Australia Won the ODI.
D. Warner got injured and couldn’t play till the 3rd test came in.
R. Sharma had got in since the 3rd test and played 26 runs and lead India for a match draw.
Rishabh Pant had been in a great form. He scored a good looking 89 and lead India to Victory after the fall of other Batsman’s.
Steve Smith was struggling throughout the first and second tests, but did a great come back for the third and fourth test matches.
J. Bumrah was in a great form, then Siraj replaced Bumrah, and proved he contributed great as a team and was the highest wicket taker for India in the tour.
N. Lyon played his 200th wicket in the test.
C. Pujara scored 6,111 in the test.
Indian team proved that they are one of the best team in cricket world, and this put them all in the 3rd place rank.
W.Pucovski scored 62 on his debut and was one of the highest scorers in the tests tour for Australia.
